These four storefronts on U.S. 41 in downtown Vienna had been given a Colonial look sometime in the past. A recent rehab returned them to their true historic character.

Above, the Design Services group of the Office of Downtown Development provided this rendering to the Vienna Better Hometown program. Note that it recommended that the mansard-type canopy be replaced with four individual canvas awnings. It also recommended that the residential-type windows, shutters, and wood infill be replaced by traditional store display windows.
